Transparency International – Bulgaria will present methodology for monitoring of institutions active on local level

Transparency International – Bulgaria is organizing two working discussions on the following topics:

“Civil Society Platform for Responsible and Accountable Governance in the Implementation of Urban Planning and Environmental Protection” which will take place on 20 March in Ramada Hotel, Sofia.

“Civil Society Platform for Responsible and Accountable Governance in Public Care for Children in Risk”, which will take place on 21 March in Ramada Hotel, Sofia.

Both discussions are part of the of the project “Civil Society Platform for Responsible and Accountable Governance”, implemented with the financial support by the NGO Programme in Bulgaria under the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2009 – 2014. The initiative is aims to develop the capacity for civil participation in the implementation of control in two key areas – urban planning and social care for children in risk. Expected results of the project include the creation of civil society platforms aiming to encourage civil participation in the policy formulation for efficient work in the work of the institutions involved in both spheres.

Methodology for civil monitoring on local and regional levels will be presented and discussed. On the basis of the developed methodology, civil monitoring in six municipalities from the Northwestern and South Central regions will be implemented, as well as the creation of platforms, which would allow more efficient mobilization of the efforts of the local institutions and NGO sector in the policy-making process in the spheres of urban planning and environmental protection, and public care for children in risk.
