Transparency

Today Transparency International – Bulgaria represented the summary results and conclusions from the monitoring of local elections and of the national referendum. The monitoring of the electoral process was held in cooperation with an extensive network of 167 observers across the country and in partnership with 26 NGOs.

Preliminary results show a trend of dramatic increase of the organizational violations and irregularities, as well as a troublesome share of the controlled vote signals and of pressure on the election voters compared to previous elections: 73.23% – organizational irregularities share from the total number of reported irregularities on Election Day, while the share of the controlled and purchased votes constitute 15.66% from the total amount of violations.
