Transparency

TI-Bulgaria express categorical disagreement with the launched campaign for slandering and removing of Transparency International, Helsinki Committee and Civil Liberties Union in Hungary. In 2014 the Hungarian Prime-Minister himself requested the Hungarian authorities to campaign against civil society organizations. An obvious reason for the renewed campaign that in a crisis weakened with migrants and refugees, the Head of the Hungarian government is looking for a new enemy in the face of the NGO sector in the country.

Proposed legislation against the NGO sector aims to paralyze the organizations receiving financial support from foreign donors through more bureaucracy and accountability requirements.
