In partnership with the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria, Transparency International Bulgaria conducted a specialized training programme titled “Anti-Corruption 360° – Corruption Risk Management,” aimed at building practical capacity for the prevention, assessment, and management of corruption risks within organizations.
The training brought together representatives from the business community, the public sector, and civil society organizations, who discussed how a systematic approach to integrity and transparency can become a real competitive advantage and a factor in sustainability.
The highlights of the programme included:
- – the importance of assessing corruption risks and prevention mechanisms;
– establishing ethical standards and a code of conduct;
– implementation of effective internal whistleblowing channels;
– the role of management and the ISO 37001 standard for anti-bribery management systems;
– practical tools for small and medium-sized enterprises that want to implement anti-corruption policies with limited resources.
As part of the training, the new comprehensive handbook “Anti-Corruption 360° – Corruption Risk Management,” prepared by the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact, was also presented. The handbook offers a comprehensive methodology for developing an anti-corruption program—from risk assessment and internal policies to monitoring and performance indicators.
Participants were provided with practical templates and tools, including a gifts and hospitality log, conflict-of-interest disclosures, and checklists for third-party due diligence.
The training emphasized that managing corruption risk is not merely a regulatory requirement, but a strategic investment in trust, reputation, and sustainable growth.
“Integrity is not just an ethical choice; it is the foundation of competitiveness and long-term success,” the organizers emphasized during the closing session.
