Why donate?

Paying of bills is unpleasant, but inevitable

Transparency International-Bulgaria needs financial support, so that it can sustain its administrative activities. Often we work on topics and causes that are on the agenda of the country \, but for which we do not have project funding (everyone who has ever worked on projects understands us).

And while we can donate our time and skills, we continue to need to pay rent, electric bills, telephone bills and for heating.

We will accept support from citizens, as well as from corporate donors. Every year, we will publish here a report for the received donations and what we have used them for.

How?

If 120 people donate 15 BGN, we will be able to cover our electric bills for an entire year.

Bank transfer

You can make a one-time donation of an amount of your choice to the account of the Transparency International Association in a branch of your servicing bank or through online banking.

Transfer order details:

Recipient: Transparency International- Bulgaria

IBAN (BGN): BG72 UBBS 8002 1011 8354 50

Bank name: UBB

Reason for payment: Donation

The currency of the account is in BGN. When making a donation through a bank transfer, a fee is charged according to the tariff of your servicing bank.

The Association does not accept donations from people whose actions are contrary to our values. We reserve the right to refuse to accept a donation, in which case we will refund the donated amount to the donor’s account, unless otherwise provided by law.

We collect your data in order to comply with our legal obligations and to inform you what we have used the donations that we have received for. By providing them, you give permission to Transparency International Bulgaria to store and process them. These data will not be published and provided to third parties outside the cases laid down by law.

Important! In case you want to make a donation over BGN 10,000 or equivalent in another currency, please contact us via email at finance [at] transparency.bg, as it is necessary to perform formal actions to comply with the legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Tax reductions:

In the case of donations for non-profit legal entities with public benefit status, such as Transparency International Bulgaria, the Bulgarian legislation provides for tax relief.

For citizen donors

The reduction is applied to the amount of the annual tax bases and amounts up to 5%.

In order to take advantage of the tax relief when submitting your annual tax return under Art. 50 of the Personal Income Tax Act, you should attach a document certifying that the donated person is one of those listed in Art. 22, para. 1 of the Personal Income Tax Act and that the subject of the donation has been received.

If you want us to prepare and send you a Donation Certificate, contact us at finance [at] transparency.bg.

For donor companies

According to Art. 31, para. 1, item 14 of the Corporate Income Tax Act, when the expenses for donations are made in favour of an NGO, for tax purposes are recognised accounting expenses for donations in the total amount of up to 10% of the positive accounting financial result (accounting profit). Keep in mind that in Art. 31, para. 5 of CITA, the legislator places a limit on the total amount of expenses for donations recognised for tax purposes: it may not exceed 65 percent of the accounting profit.
