The members of Business Integrity Club took part as special guests in the forum “Sustainable Development and Business Integrity” which took place on the 15th of May 2024 in Sofia Balkan Palace Hotel in Sofia.
During the forum good practices, concerning business integrity in the context of the ESG standards and the new European norms for accountability on sustainability, as well as the practical implementation of the standards for business integrity were discussed.
Emphasis was placed on the role of all the members of the public and private sector and their collective actions for introducing anti-corruption norms and standards and creating a sustainable investment environment in Bulgaria.
Special attention was given also to the recommendations and the guidelines of the Organisation of Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as the progress of Bulgaria in the execution of the adopted national strategic framework in the process of joining the organization.
It was given the possibility to the members to analyze critically, to discuss and apply proactive measures, which will lead to progress in regards to the transparency, accountability, and integrity of the private sector battling with corruption, making them more effective and inclusive.
Present on the forum were Mr. François Valérian, Chair of the Board of directors of Transparency International, Mr. Nikolay Pavlov, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Ambassador of Sweden in Bulgaria H.E. Mrs. Katharina Rangnit, executive representatives, the Deputy Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Mr. Nikola Barbutov, representatives of the business, media, and the academic community.
The event is part of the initiative “Integrity in the business” and is based on the progress achieved in last years for establishment and introduction of effective and efficient standards for business integrity and sustainable development.
