Transparency International – Bulgaria send an open letter to Members of the Parliament in National Assembly of Bulgaria in connection with no transparency about the sale of “CHEZ BULGARIA” – the biggest electricity company in Western Bulgaria.

TI-Bulgaria calls Member of the Parliament to require a report from the institutions which have powers in the field of national security, banking regulation, customer protection or regulation of specific markets.

We calls for clarification of origin of funds involved in the transaction, the risk of getting the strategic venture into the hands of offshore companies, as well as the origin of financial resources with which the company will operate to fulfill its obligations according to the analysis.

TI-Bulgaria recalls that pursuant to Article 62 and Article 84 of the Constitution of Republic of Bulgaria the National Assembly is the institution that has the power to supervise, to request a report from the institutions, to ask information and documents from executives and citizens. The National Assembly has the obligation to defense national interests and work to the benefit of its citizens.
